Doug and Ellen took a trip, with some friends from the Boulder County Volunteer Naturalists, to Gateway. Colorado and then took their Trailmanor trailer over to Moab, Utah for the 4th of July and a geology canoe trip sponsored by the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.

Gateway area: The group spent 2 days exploring the Gateway, Unaweep Canyon, Uncompahgre Platuea and the Dolores River areas.

Moab area: Doug and Ellen took a petroglyph tour around Moab and explored the Kane Creek Road BLM area, Dead Horse State Park, and took a 3 day canoe trip on the Colorado River between Dewey Bridge and Moab.
